Manchester Airport decided to change its airport car parks marketing strategy and KMP were contracted to build a new car parks booking application for the website and promote the facility through e marketing channels.
The Result
After the launch of the new online car parks booking system, the revenues returned from the internet bookings increased by 300% within the first year. Subsequently online car parking bookings have been growing at the rate of 100% per annum.

Car parking is now being marketed in joint promotional campaigns with WH Smith and other airport retailers by offering a discount voucher to the store if you book your car parking online. This has proved to be a successful campaign idea for both the airport and the retailer.
Implementation of UGC
Revenue earned from Car-Park bookings is a significant source of income for the Manchester Airports Group. Using KMP’s car-park booking system, the Group is able to maximise revenue opportunities by providing airport users with a clear and well-laid out way of finding the right car-parking service for the user’s budget and needs.
The Group continues to develop the relationship with each client by sending a follow-up email asking clients for feedback on the car-parking experience. This has already generated almost 25,000 responses within 5 months and has provided crucial feedback to help the Group shape its Car Parking Services to the requirements of its diverse range of clients.
With such a significant response, KMP felt an opportunity existed to channel this enthusiasm and create a facility which allowed respondents to provide their own reviews of the car-park. This sits perfectly alongside the Group’s ethos of making each aspect of the passenger’s travel through the airport as smooth as possible.
Users responding to the survey will be able to complete an additional series of questions as well as include their own written review of the specific parking facility. The results appear as a series of simple to understand coloured icons which then combine to reflect the overall score of the car-parking experience.
All responses are moderated by Group staff to ensure that no offensive material is published, but are mindful to ensure that as many reviews as possible are published to ensure a balanced view of the car-parking facilities are published.
